Getting Around Perth

Perth Airport is 20km east of the CBD, with taxis available from both the domestic and international terminals. The fare from the domestic terminal to the CBD is approximately $32 whilst it’s approximately $40 from the international terminal.

There is also a 24 hour taxi service for passengers with disabilities, which can be booked on +61 (0)8 9333 3377. It’s recommended to book this service twenty four hours prior to avoid delays.

CAT BusesCat buses

This is a free bus service around the Perth CBD and is colour coded with Red, Blue and Yellow routes.

The Red CAT travels in an East-West loop from Queens Gardens in East Perth to Outram St in West Perth; the Blue CAT travels from the Barrack St Jetty to Northbridge in a North-South loop; the Yellow CAT operates in a loop from East Perth to West Perth.

Buses

Transperth buses terminate either at the Wellington Street or Esplanade Busports.

There is a Free Transit Zone (FTZ) that operates within in the City of Perth boundaries. You can travel within these boundary on Transperth buses for free.

For travel outside the FTZ, tickets may be purchased either from a driver or a Smartrider can be purchased from the Perth Railway Station on Wellington Street.

TrainsPerth Train Station

Perth’s central station is located on Wellington Street.

There are also train hubs at Midland, Joondalup, Fremantle, Armadale and Mandurah.

Ferries

Perth’s main train terminal is at Barrack Street Jetty, with ferries travelling to and from Fremantle, Rottnest and South Perth.

There is a ferry service between Barrack Street Jetty and Mends Street in South Perth.
