Social Media Research Project

As part of the CAA 2012, we are running a research project that will investigate into the role of social media in supporting live events (SMiLE).

The project team is made up of multi-disciplinary researchers from across the university, and aims to use a variety of approaches to consider how best to implement, record and analyse social media before, during and after events such as conferences.

A team of volunteers contributed to the project over the CAA2012 conference, helping us to collect a staggering 1300 tweets, over 400 Flickr photos and some excellent Vimeo videos.

We are now working to produce a series of blog posts providing an overview of our experiences, and to make the CAA2012 social media archive available.
